Here are the Trimble instructions for setting your reciever to stand alone.

Please see the info below.


 1. When you want to use WAAS with the 5700 receiver (Firmware version 1.4 or higher)  you must use
 GPS  configurator. If you don't have it, look on the 5700 cd that was issued with your equipment
 under utilities  and you will be able to load it on your computer.



 2. Using the GPS configurator program connect the power\downloading cable (32345)  to the back of
 your  computer and the 5700. Connect to the 5700 and go to the option GENERAL. The only option you 
need to make  sure is switched on is Use WAAS corrections and ignore WASS{correction health*}.  
After these are checked simply say ok, and  exit the program.


 3. Now you can connect the TSC1 or TSCe to the 5700 choose any style you want and make sure under
 the  rover options you select a style that uses differential corrections. Example RT differential. 
 Under  broadcast format  change the format to WAAS. After doing so, you can start the survey and
 use the WAAS  function. Once you are locked on you will see a little symbol on the bottom of your 
screen showing that you  are receiving  the WAAS corrections.
